My 25 Random Things...

I put this up on facebook but thought I'd put it here too:

1. My comfort food is 7 layer bean dip, spinach dip with bread & of course slurpees!
2. I am shy. I'd rather be entertained, than be the center of attention. So, if I haven't been super chatty... it's because I'm shy. Sorry.
3. I met John on a random road trip to Edmonton. At the time I was living in Calgary and he was in Lethbridge.
4. I love to cook! Especially ethnic foods. I'm glad that John is adventurous & appreciates it. I think it helps that we lived in Edmonton where there were lots of options.
5. We've gutted & renovated our home. And within this last year 2 of my brothers have built homes. And my parents are building this year!
6. I used to name my cars... Pablo & Beluga. My theory is you usually only name vehicles that need "encouraging".
7. I can get caught up in a good book & will forgo sleep to finish it.
8. My favorite cookbooks that I swear by are the 'Best Recipe' cookbooks.
9. I am terribly allergic to animals yet have told John that one day we'd get a weimeraner dog. And I used to do barrel racing & horse jumping - sniffling & all!
10. I like to sew and am currently working on a quilt for our bed. It's been a long process.
11. I am going to get Lasik eye surgery; I just have to save up for it!
12. I have run the St. George Marathon (with my Dad in 2004). He went my pace although he could have gone faster. I don't really like running but I like how I feel AFTER I've run. Go figure.
13. I love slurpees. I get one almost daily.
14. I am missing a kidney. I was just born that way.
15. I have held a snake when I was on a photography field trip in the Mojave Desert. I'm terrified of snakes, spiders, etc. so I felt pretty brave.
16. I love deals & usually buy most of Mya's things on sale the season before.
17. I can fall asleep really quick (within 5 min.), except right now being pregnant.
18. I love Mac computers.... and Mac makeup.
19. I love to garden. I'm still learning & have lots to figure out, but it's fun for me. I've got cilantro & basil just starting right now. It's hard to find fresh herbs here in town, so I figured I'd grow my own!
20. I hate mice. We lived out at my parent's cabin for a few months... and even with all the traps, etc. there were still mice. They make me cringe, squeal & jump around like a little kid. Especially when a dead one gets tossed at me... right mom?! ;)
21. I need my sleep or else I have a hard time functioning. I've taught/ trained Mya to be a good sleeper to - for all our sakes ;)
22. I'm a city girl. I've noticed that more since moving to a small town (Cardston). I'm still not used to it, but John likes & has a good job so wish me luck.
23. I do NOT like contention and avoid it at all costs.
24. I hope I don't have another premature baby. Mya was a month early & came in at 4 1/2 pounds... and all that comes with premies. So, here's to hoping.
25. I am blessed & love my family! I have great siblings that I get along with! It's never a dull moment when we get together!
